Privacy Policy
Short version: we do not sell personal information. Our games store progress on your device. Advertising is provided by Google AdMob. Personalized advertising and tracking only happen if you choose to allow them. You can keep playing if you decline.
1. Who we are
Non-Obnoxious Games is operated by Joshua Williams (“we,” “us,” or “our”). For privacy questions, contact j.h.w@icloud.com.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the app, platform, and your choices, the following may be processed:
- Game data on your device. Progress, settings, scores, streaks, cosmetics unlocks, and similar gameplay state are stored locally on your device (for example with Apple’s standard on-device storage). We do not require an account to play.
- Advertising and measurement data. When ads are shown, Google AdMob and its partners may collect device and advertising identifiers, IP address, device type, approximate location derived from IP, ad interaction data, and diagnostic information needed to deliver and measure ads. What they receive depends on your consent and Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT) choices.
- Consent and preference signals. We (and Google’s User Messaging Platform, where required) record whether you have consented to certain ad uses, including personalized ads in regions that require it.
- Website data. Our website is a simple marketing site. Hosting providers (such as Vercel) may process standard server logs (for example IP address, browser type, and pages requested) needed to operate the site.
- Communications. If you email us, we receive the content of your message and your email address so we can respond.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and our apps are not directed to children under 13.
3. Advertising, App Tracking Transparency, and voluntary consent
Our apps may show banner ads and optional rewarded ads (for example hints, undos, or similar boosts that you choose to watch). We design ads to be player-started where rewards are involved, and we do not use ads to force attention mid-puzzle.
- Google AdMob. Ads are served by Google Mobile Ads / AdMob. Google’s use of data is described in Google’s Privacy Policy and AdMob help materials.
- Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT). On iOS versions that require it, we ask for permission before accessing the device’s advertising identifier for tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies. You can Allow or Ask App Not to Track. Declining does not block gameplay. You can change this later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Consent / UMP (including GDPR/EEA and similar regimes). Where required, we present a consent message via Google’s User Messaging Platform before personalized ads are requested. You may accept, reject, or manage options according to the form shown in your region. In-app settings may also offer a “Privacy options” entry when Apple/Google require it.
- Voluntary tracking. Tracking and personalized advertising are optional. If you decline ATT and/or ad personalization consent, we still may show non-personalized or limited ads consistent with Google’s and Apple’s rules, or ads may be less relevant.
4. How we use information
- To operate gameplay and remember your progress and preferences on device
- To show ads that help keep the apps free to download and play
- To honor consent, privacy, and tracking choices
- To diagnose crashes or ad-delivery issues
- To respond if you contact us
- To comply with law and platform requirements (Apple App Store, Google AdMob)
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf or as independent controllers for advertising, such as:
- Google (AdMob / Google Mobile Ads / User Messaging Platform)
- Apple (App Store, device OS privacy frameworks, analytics Apple may provide)
- Website hosting providers for nonobnoxious.com
These partners process data under their own policies and applicable law. Ad partners may also work with additional demand partners to fill ad requests.
6. Data retention
On-device game data remains until you delete the app or clear app data. Advertising and consent records held by Google or other partners are retained according to their policies. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to handle your request and any related follow-up.
7. Your choices and rights
- Decline or reset tracking permission in iOS Settings
- Use in-app or regional consent / Privacy options where available
- Limit Ad Tracking / Personalized Ads controls provided by Apple
- Delete an app to remove local game data stored by that app
- Contact us at j.h.w@icloud.com to ask questions or request help with privacy-related requests available under your local law (for example access or deletion where applicable)
Residents of the EEA, UK, Switzerland, California, and other regions may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. We will respond to verified requests as required.
8. Children
Our apps and website are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. International processing
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, appropriate safeguards or consent mechanisms apply to cross-border transfers, including those used by Google for advertising services.
10. Security
We take reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to a small independent developer. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
11. Third-party links and stores
App Store pages, ads, and external links may lead to third-party services we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above will change when we do. Continued use of the apps or website after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
